THE FREE QUICKSTART

Your first task.
On your own project.

Start with a local task you can check. You need an Azflow account, a folder to work in, and an available coding agent. No card or Azflow subscription is required to start Free.

Download and sign in

Choose your platform, install Azflow, and open it. Create an account using Google, GitHub, or email and password. If you use email, open the confirmation link, then sign in to the app with the same account.

Free local use still requires sign-in. If Setup reports missing Git or an agent CLI, follow its setup instructions before continuing.

Choose how your agent gets its models

Bring your own AI sign-in

Connect an available agent, such as Codex or Claude Code, using your existing provider account. Azflow’s local workspace is free; the provider’s subscription, usage limits, and API charges still apply.

Have LM Studio running locally? You can connect that setup too. Model availability depends on your computer and configuration.

Try hosted Azflow AI

No separate AI subscription? Select Azflow AI. Free includes $0.50 of hosted model credit each month for standard models. Check Settings → Azflow AI for your available models and remaining credit.

This is a small starting allowance, not unlimited model usage. On Free, hosted providers may retain data under their own terms.

Choose a connected agent and an available model when you start the thread. A local thread runs tools on your computer; selecting hosted Azflow AI still sends model requests to the hosted service.

Bring a folder. Ask one clear question.

Add an existing local project folder in Azflow, then start a thread for that project using your chosen agent. Keep this first task local; you do not need a Cloud sandbox.

Try this prompt on a project with a README:

Read this project’s README and relevant source files. Explain what it does, identify three important files, and suggest one small improvement. Do not change files, install dependencies, or run commands yet.

Check the result: open the files it names. Do they exist, and does the explanation match them? Ask the agent to correct anything that is unclear before requesting a change.

For your next task, ask for one small change. Review its diff, run the appropriate checks, and decide whether to keep it. You can continue using local agents on Free.

Three separate things to keep track of

Your provider account
With your own AI sign-in, model access and charges come from that provider. Free Azflow local use does not include an unlimited third-party subscription.
Hosted Azflow AI credit
Free includes $0.50 each month for standard models. If it runs out, wait for renewal, use your own connected provider, or buy optional credit. Top-ups of $10–$500 never expire, work on Free, and do not unlock frontier models or add Cloud hours.
Cloud sandbox time
Free includes 5 awake hours each month with 1 Cloud thread running at a time. Local work does not consume these hours. Cloud uses a separate remote workspace; local files do not move there automatically. A Cloud hour is an awake sandbox hour, not a model credit.

Keep work you need: on Free, paused Cloud sandboxes are kept for 1 hour before their files are removed. Save needed work back to your project before relying on that sandbox for storage. Free stops at its Cloud allowance; it does not bill overage.

Need more Cloud time, concurrent threads, Connect phone access, or shared team work? Compare optional monthly plans. An AI-credit top-up and a subscription upgrade are separate purchases.

If the first task does not start

  • Sign-in: check email confirmation and use the same Azflow account in the app.
  • Agent unavailable: finish its setup/sign-in and choose a model available to that provider.
  • Credit exhausted: check Settings → Azflow AI for the renewal date, or use your own connected provider.
  • Cloud limit reached: use a local thread, wait for an active Cloud thread to finish, or check your allowance in Billing & Plan.

Still stuck? Contact Azflow with your operating system, app version, and the error message. Leave out API keys, passwords, and private project content.
